Tending Our Sacred Indigenous Healing Community Room

Long ago, when the buffalo came near, the whole camp grew quiet. The Akichita, the camp protectors, kept watch so that no one rushed ahead and scattered the herd. Every part of the hunt was carefully tended, because one careless moment could leave the whole people hungry through winter.

Our Community Room is a kind of hunt, too. We come here hungry for truth, for healing, for the encouragement of relatives walking the same path. And like that sacred hunt, it needs tending so it can feed us all.

Why This Room Exists

The IndigenousHealing.io community is free for everyone, and it always will be. Behind that freedom is a grandmother's labor of love, many hours of work, so that relatives from every corner of Turtle Island and beyond have a place to gather without cost.

The Community Room was created for one purpose: so that healing relatives can share with one another, encourage one another, and walk Nature's 4 Steps of Healing together, through Balance, Harmony, Abundance, and Peace.

When you post here, your words travel to every member of our circle. That is a beautiful thing. It also means each sharing asks for a little of everyone's time and attention. So we treat this space as sacred ground.

What Nourishes the Circle

You are invited to come exactly as you are. These are the sharings that feed us all:

  • Introducing yourself: who you are, where you are, and what brought you to the circle path
  • Honest struggles: what you are working through, shared so others know they are not alone
  • Insights and breakthroughs: a moment when one of the 4 Steps came alive for you
  • Encouragement: kind words for a relative who has shared something tender
  • Gratitude and joy: healing worth celebrating, so wellness can ripple outward
  • Questions: wondering out loud about the teachings, so we can learn together

What Scatters the Herd

Some sharings, even well-meant ones, scatter our attention instead of feeding it:
  • Daily diary notes or running commentary
  • Many short posts in a row, or long strings of emojis
  • Promoting products, services, or outside groups
  • Posts unrelated to healing and the circle path
None of these come from a bad heart. Often they come from a hungry one, from a need to be seen and heard. That need is real and worthy of care. The Community Room just isn't the right place to fill it, because a room full of scattered notes buries the deep sharings our relatives need to find.

Keeping the Fire

As keeper of this fire, I will gently remove posts that scatter rather than nourish. Please hear this clearly: a removed post is never a rejection of you. You remain a welcome relative in this circle. It is simply the Akichita's work of keeping the hunting ground clear so everyone can eat.

If you have something that needs saying but doesn't belong in the room, a personal journal is a wonderful home for daily reflections. And if you need to be heard, you can always write to me directly.

One Question Before You Post

Before you share in the Community Room, pause and ask yourself:
Does this feed the circle?

If the answer is yes, bring it. We are waiting for it. Your honest sharing may be exactly the medicine another relative needs today.

Thank you for tending this sacred space with me. Together we keep the fire bright, the hunting ground clear, and the circle path open as we walk toward the day the circle will mend.

Come walk with us in wellness, with and for all our relations
